That sheath is definitely less noticeable in a feral stance, and I think I've seen some real dog breed(s) that had over-sized sheaths!

It was the breed and it wasn't quite this over-sized, mostly it was because selective breeding shrank the breed over-all but left the males with a disproportionately-sized 'package', as it were. Although some of the larger dog breeds look that way by a combination of large bits and short hair (making said dangly-bits more obvious!).

Yeah, Great-Danes can look like that sometimes, I think it's the contrast between the long legs and the body that makes it look like that. Beagles are another breed that sometimes looks that way, but in this case it's due in part to the short legs and semi-long body. But that's all side-effects from the creation of these breeds. Another example is that French Bulldogs (I think) always have to have puppies by cesarean due to the puppies having heads too large to be born normally. It's also interesting to look at pictures of what breeds looked like fifty years ago versus what they look like today, sadly a lot of people are breeding for looks and not taking care to ensure healthy genetics, leading to a lot of pure-bred animals being very unhealthy from bad genetics. A good-ole average mutt will often live a longer healthier life. Sorry for the long post, I'm more 'talkative' online than in person!
