Hoo-ee! 2 pages in one week! That's, like, ca-rrrraaayzee!
I'm pretty darned happy with how this came out, though I'm not so sure about Fred on panel 2 and how I had to arrange some of the dialogue. I made some careful color choices but consciously tried to make the scene not look monochromatic, and I think I did better than normal! Now I think I'll relax and eat my sandwich.

He wants to defend himself with a silenced MAC-11? Good for close quaters, but that thing is so inaccurate that you have to spray a magazine on your enemy and hope that you hit and then again, in 3 seconds you have crapped all 30 rounds out of the mag. And its only 9mm so anyone who wears body armor just laughts at you.....I could go on.
Why didnt he get at least an AK-74U or something like that?

Compactness and portability, mainly. Plus, even a 9mm is quite lethal if used properly, and Fred is a proper user. He won't spray all 30 rounds in a single burst, he knows most of his adversaries can't afford body armor, and he doesn't plan on charging anyone headlong. Plus, the MAC-11 is affordable and available in the story's timeline, and perhaps one of few suppressed submachine guns that mercenaries would have access to, others possibly being the Sterling L34A1 and the Uzi.
The MAC 11 possesses entirely adequate accuracy at the ranges it is meant to be used. It was designed from the ground up for quite close-in work. It is not meant for engagements beyond fifty feet, much less fifty yards. While it does not compare to the silenced H&Ks in use today for accuracy, at the time it was designed, the big advantages that made it useful for special operations were its portability/concealability, its high rate of fire (yes, this is a negative for the average soldier) and its designed-in compatibility with Werbell's Sionics suppressor. The latter was such a significant feature that supposedly various other countries cancelled orders for the MAC 10 when the suppressors became unavailable.
For room-clearing and close encounters, in hands with good trigger control, it's quite the efficient little monster. I've fired its big brother, the MAC 10, and it is nothing like so inaccurate as requiring emptying an entire magazine at a man-sized target to 'hope' for a hit. Particularly with the shoulder strap looped to provide bracing against the forward thrust gripping hand, three to six round twitching bursts on silhouette targets were not difficult to keep in roughly center of mass. No, you don't get pretty little cloverleafs at 20-30m like a modern H&K MP5SD6 with the three-round will give you, but three rounds in the area of a salad-plate at 15m is entirely adequate.
Most soldiers wear flak vests and helmets meant to stop shrapnel...NOT to stop bullets, like police body armor, and even police body armor only recently reached a point where non-trauma-plated areas would stop NATO ball 9. NATO ball 9 will punch through a chicken vest just dandy and will slip multiple layers of kevlar. In the 70s (when this story is set), with not a lot of trauma plates around, it did just dandy service.

I'm happy to hear that! the Mac11 may ultimately become Fred's signature weapon but I haven't thought out enough of the story yet to say whether he will even have such a thing, since he's not picky. Mark my words, though, someone- or several someones will be splattered by this thing in the coming pages.
Normally he carries a pistol, but in some cases his weapons are seized by customs and he has to worry about replacements. In the interim he also carries a trusty special forces knife (a Wittingslowe, derived from the famous Fairbairn-Sykes) and will use any local ordnance he can lay hands on.
Bla, Bla, Bla gun disscusions.. The artwork is fantastic.. "why didn't she send a bazooka?" SHUT-UP! ARTWORK! Fantastic detail...."why are the mags empty?" Can't anyone just admire your talent for what it is.. the time and hard work and long hours that go into these has to be staggering. I'm just trying to knock out a 36 page comic in B&W and it's taken me months.. you've got to have done alot of these and all in full color.. if you don't print this when your done... your missing out. fantastic. keep it up!
There will always be dissent and disagreement among gun aficionados, and while they can come off easily as obsessive it's also often a good idea to hear them out and weigh their words. I'd say about a third of what I've learned about guns in general comes just from the words of enthusiasts, though I try to get varying opinions and fact-check a little.
In any case, I'm happy that you appreciate the artwork! I don't know if I can make every page work out this nicely, but with all these artists stopping by to compliment me I have to say I'm quite flattered. Thank you!

The comic is about a mercenary who is rudely awakened by a coup d'etat in a fictional country in West Africa. In this scene, the other tourists at the hotel are understandably a bit on the frantic side- this coup has managed to catch just about everyone by surprise.
If you want to know more, take a read through what I've got so far! I'm confident you won't be disappointed.
