While sketching, I began drawing a fanart of two of Aerokat’s characters, Cage Blunt and Jack Howard. They are featured in her amazing comic Nightshift. Jack is a police officer and Cage is new to the police field. Not to mention Cage is also a vampire, and Jack is the only mortal who knows it.

I still don’t know too much about them, whether they’re friends or not, but here is something that came to mind.

It is 9 o’clock in the evening at the New York City Police Department. There Jack Howard continues to supervise newcomer Cage Blunt. Since he was the one that recruited Cage, Jack is put in charge to introduce him to the field. Today is gym training. Cage however, being a vampire, doesn’t think that’s necessary.

Cage: This is stupid! Why do I have to come and workout?
Jack: Quit complaining, Blunt! We’re all required to come here at least three times a week.
Cage: I still don’t see the need. I don’t exactly gain weight living on a blood only diet.
Jack: Well then go and tell the chief that you’re a blood sucking vampire! He’ll understand!
Cage: Speaking of the chief, where is ol’ fatso? HE’S the one that should be here!
Jack: Don’t say that so loud!
Cage: Well that’s more than I can say for you, skinny.
Jack: Skinny?! The heck I am! I’m in top shape. All this is muscle.
Cage: Hmm, I don’t know. But at least I don’t have to try to stay in shape.
Jack: You have an unfair advantage, you… AHH! Now you made me lose count!
Cage: I always knew you were the type that has trouble counting.
Jack: I’m not working out with you anymore.
