The typical thing, armed efforts to increase or maintain influence over territory. Actually a bit restrained, in that the goal was to simply force the opponent out of an area rather than the destruction of the opponent directly. They haven't considered the modern notion of total war.

A friend was an Air Guard reservist, after a career in the regular Army. He mustered out of the USA as a Staff Sergeant (E6) and the AG offered him E7 to change his shirt. Last I knew, he was Captain, I think; he'd done pretty well for himself working in Public Relations, OCS or whatever to a Looey and worked his way up.

Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a sizable amount of the design of your own personal avatar in Jerom. He's almost a grouchy, murine version of you.

And keep in mind my persona doesn't look at all like me- being largely bald and usually sporting rather cropped hair with what's left- and being a fat old bastard.

Technically few (if any) of our personas look exactly like the RL version of us. But I read that Oreo comic you did, and he definitely has the feel of someone real. ^_^

A lot of the design for this one actually came out of the typical manga/anime image of the gruff old fart, short, squinty eyes and attack brows.

Yes, he's got life. I would fully expect to be scared of incurring what little wrath he would deem me worthy of (while secretly proud that I was actually worthy of his notice) if I were an enlisted grunt in his outfit.
