This is probably the latest piece I've done, in the last few months.
The concept was to take the art from the film, and paint it so that the characters looked like they had texture. It was also fun to make the extra 'ripples' in Mammoth Mutt's neck stand out more.
The biggest headache, was Krypto's white fur. In truth, white only seems to work right when you actually start layering in shadow and grey tones.
I still feel I didn't get the shadows where his paws are holding her up done that well, but overall, I'll take a 90% happy over this one anyday.

Well, I don't know much, but I do know a little about the original Mammoth Mutt. Originally, in the original Adventure Comics comic book when the character first appeared, Superdog actually found and attempted to rescue Mammoth Mutt after he was take out by a missile.
Oh yeah, that's the other thing, the Mammoth Mutt in the original comic book was originally male, and he was about the same size as Krypto and Tusky Husky. To be honest, I think Scott Jeralds and his associated animator made a good move when they revamped the character, by making him a female (because Brainy Barker is literally the only other female in the Dogstars), and making her much smaller for comedic effect.
Yeah, if you couldn't tell, I'm a big Superdog fan.

I have noticed. I'll even throw myself under the bus and confess that I was attracted to her superpower once upon a time as well. But artwork of her in her inflated shape rather than in her normal shape, and as I said (over a year ago), I like her in her normal shape, and I think she's cute.
