Based of the tried and true design of the original SDF-1 Macross, the first generation macross class fortresses where tasked with protecting the early megaroad fleets before the introduction of the Judgment and Elias class battle carriers. though outdated, the macross class is still a formidable vessel equipped with thousands of point defense guns, 4 high powered rail cannons, various missile launchers, and of course its super dimensional reflex cannon. While the Elias class is a super carrier with a large air wing and the Judgment is equipped with the most powerful anti ship weaponry, the 1st gen class is a near perfect balance of carrier and battleship.

I beg to differ in Macross II lovers again it did not even dent the surface of the enemy Marduk Ship while the Enemy destroyed it leaving only the Head in severe condition and it fired at full power against the enemy ship

True, but then again it's all in the name. The Nadesico's distorion field is based on folding space and space compression technology. While in the Macross universe the only thing that can do that is the ships drive engine (which after it went missing had the side effect of creating the Point Defense systems, which although strong really isn't very effective for overall cover) and the main gun.
In other means for a fight odds are in Macross favour due to the larger army onboard. Hundreds of fighters and dozens of destroids compared to Nadesico's... 5 or so fighters? Even with it's defense field, Nedesico is still outclassed in that field :P

Yes But even the first Nadessico ship could do that. The diferance is the Macross is an even Match for the Nadessico Y. The macross has a powerfull barrier system and even stronger main cannon while the Naddesico has the same. Like Dark_Chaos said they'd be out numbered by smaller Mecha, even though the Naddesico probably has better close range mecha than the Macross (Aestavalis Vs old VT model varitechs? now that's a whole other argument).
Either way it would be an interesting match up. Maybe its something for those fun people who write Supper Robot Wars, or Another Century's Episode, games

I was always a huge fan of the DYRL Macross design over the original TV series version of the SDF-1. I dunno i think it was the Deadalus and Promethius carriers for arms which never sat that well with me. The ARMD Platforms just seemed t fit a lot better not to mention made the ship in its Storm Attacker mode a more imposing sight.
