You should do what is best for you. I personally really like the old elites better, I think the new ones were meant to look more evil and less.. smart? they appear much more animalistic.
That being said there isnt a massive difference between them, they are both clearly elites and in time im sure i could get used to the new one, if its easier and more fun for you then pick the right one, this is your char and you should do whats best for you.
