Back in June, 2008, someone sent the "Fat Furs Mailing List" a report about Australia being declared "the world's fattest nation"(which included a political cartoon with obese versions of a kangaroo and an emu in it), which prompted Aldi to post an illustration of his kangaroo character 'Roofus' - superimposed over said report - stating, "Don't look at me, I'm Canadian!" Logically, he feels that Aussie characters like 'Oz Roo' are more prone to getting fat (although 'Oz' usually gets his belly expanded with air or gas, instead of with food and/or drink).

Two weeks later, Canada celebrated a major milestone, as Quebec City turned 400 years old... and I just couldn't pass up a golden opportunity like THIS!

On the back of an envelope, I'd doodled (with a black ball-point pen) an image of an overly-inflated 'Roofus' - with a banner (honoring Quebec City's milestone - in both English and French-Canadian) adorning his massive midsection. I hope you find this offering to be uplifting!

(NOTE: I WAS going to present this doodled image around July 3rd - the actual date of Quebec City's birthday - but as many of you already know, "Fur Affinity" had 'faw down and go boom'... for about a month! By the time "FA" went back online, I had misplaced the artwork. Then, by the time I'd recovered it, the hard drive on my computer froze, and - in rectifying the situation with my PC - lost my "Photo Impression" program. So, I had to go to a local public library to scan this artwork, and then used the [more primitive] Paint program in my PC to clean up the image, and rewrite the French-Canadian phrase for "Happy Birthday" - which I erroneously, and jokingly, wrote down as "Avec Ano Birthque"... I've been watching too many 'Pepe Le Pew' cartoons! Anyway, as late as I am for the celebration of Quebec City's 400 birthday, here is my doodled offering! Joyeux Anniversarie! - RC)
