Here is a random idea that came to mind after watching an episode of Disney’s House of Mouse, which featured a brief appearance of underrated Horace Horsecollar.

The episode was titled ‘Clarabelle’s Big Secret’. In it, Clarabelle Cow announces that she knows a big secret and is going to tell everyone. But fearing the secret might be about them, the crew tries to stop her. So Mickey uses Horace (the show’s technician) to distract her by standing there on a scooter flexing to her while wearing only his undershirt, underwear, and horse collar.

As much as I like that moment, I still found it very disappointing. Why? Even though Horace looks nice in his attire, you still couldn’t see anything. It’s like the animator(s) were censoring him. But in other episodes Goofy is seen completely naked (it’s censored of course), Donald too is nude at times, Mickey is seen wearing only his underwear, the girls wear two piece swimsuits, and even Big Pete runs around wear only his briefs (which I found very disturbing). So why is Horace wearing an undershirt? Even in another brief moment in another episode, we see Horace at a pool and he’s wearing an old fashion swimsuit that covers his entire body. He looks like he’s wearing pajamas. Is it a big issue to feature Horace shirtless like all the other less attractive characters?

Poor Horace, he is a Disney reject all his life. He had this one moment to shine, but they even took that away from him. Horace deserves so much more. Much much more!
