Many long years as an infantryman in what he describes as the "losing side" of a long war has made this veteran policeman immune to all the things that sentient imagination can summon.

Where Andrew Clark is complex, Matthew Grey is simple. A baseball player and college drop-out, Matt drove a taxi for many years before becoming a cop, and few know his home-city better than he. He has met almost everyone and been down almost every street and alley, sometimes running from the very same police he would later serve his community with.
