In a crafter's mind, there exists an image of what they are trying to make.
This image is often far more vague than the crafter realizes, therefore, the end result of a long laborious process is often less than satisfactory.
The image you see in your head is often like an image from a panel in a comic book.

The minute details are too intricate to be drawn every time the image is shown, so the artist of the comic book leaves the detail to the reader's imagination.
