The stronghold of the lion-men has been breached, and the enemy has followed the explosives with tear gas. Drawing done in an attempt to produce a pulp magazine-style illustration. No particular story here, just an odd and I hope interesting image.

Dear sir, thank you so very much for creating a scenario where we, humanity, are not the aggressor. No seriously, one of my big pet peeves with the fandom is making anthros all happy and peace-loving until the dastardly mustache-twirling humans with their evil technology shows up to ruin the day for reasons ranging from the realistic (resources and so on) to the outright moronic. It is genuinely refreshing to see someone understand that sometimes the shoe is on the other foot and sometimes Man must call upon the full depths of his heroic ingenuity to protect the product of his sweat and blood from the aggressor.
Yes. Chlorine gas, mustard gas, the stuff they were using in the First World War was particularly damn nasty, and again the idea was to kill your enemy outright, or at least permanently cripple him. Blister his skin, burn out his eyes, and sear his lungs so he'd choke to death. Asphyxiation is a horrable way to die.
Very true. Chlorine gas would make your lungs rupture and fill with fluid, drowning you from the inside. Mustard gas was less lethal but was more successful. It only had to touch flesh, rather then be breathed in, and would blister anything it came into contact with, including your eyes. That would not kill you but would definitely stop you in your tracks, and a blinded soldier cannot fight. Would also strain the enemy as they had to deal with lots and lots of incapacitated soldiers.
