yea id rather see a truck this old in its original stock appearance this dude ruined this truck by dropping it low like this and besides it looks stupid droped its why id rather put a 6 inch skyjacker lift kit on my ranger than drop it

He never did any scraping and lifted before leaving. But I get what you are saying, dragging your ass end to create sparks doesn't really accomplish anything but damage to your car.

Actually, I had a co-worker who did this to a Tacoma (nickname "Grounded Taco"). They actually bolted "drag blocks" made of titanium alloy to the frame that would throw awesome sparks without damaging the frame.

Odd reply - just happened to see your comment - I speak from experience when I say it can not. Not without a lot of work and at that point I ask either how well you can fab or how much do$h you have; it's a given that you're going to need time, haha. (Short answer obviously will be to buy a pickup/beater hauler)

Long story short you would have to cut out the frame and weld in a c notch for the rear

fabrication wouldn't be a problem, especially with the inherent strength of the old Volvo RWD platforms. I'm just exploring options but will probably end up just using heavier duty springs

What the other gent said is one way to do it; what youre trying to tow will also matter. Some HD shocks and springs might get the job done and keep your life a hell of a lot more simple. Lol.

I think he's just talking about weight capacity, not dropping it. If you don't have progressive springs, you can add old school "helper" bags that level your vehicle when it is under additional weight. There are two versions. One that fits inside a coil spring, and one that bolts between a leaf spring and the frame. Some use a compressor, while others are pumped up like tires with a remote schrader valve. These should no be used as a replacement for towing capacity as you should never exceed the limits that your vehicle was designed for.
