I know, I know this isn't the type of subject matter relevant to a site like "Fur Affinity" but hey, it's my gallery and this is the oldest piece of "commission" art that I have and I've loved it for 33 years. I think it's a fun thing to share.
This was drawn by my uncle, James Sherman, back when he was visiting our family in 1982. He's been a freelance artist, comic book illustrator for all the life I've known him and one of the projects he'd done at that time was illustrating a series of coloring books based on a couple television shows of the time (The Dukes of Hazzard and The Fall Guy were the only two that I had copies of) and since my brother and I were big fans of the show he drew this for us as a gift.
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that my uncle is responsible for my interest in pursuing art as a career, but I am certain that his abilities and presence in the family life was an important sign that an art career was a genuinely viable path you could take.
