There is nothing quite unique as the dimly lit, dank caverns of arcade establishments... greasy condiments, various blips and bloops, machines swallowing your quarters without hesitation... it all is very magical
It has been a while since I have created a stand alone image of this trio, even more so with a splash of color! ^^; Decided to change Pichu's eye color as it previously was bordering on some nuclear toxic green, or "Hulk Rage". Oh, and the reason Pichu is licking his eye is because he never blinks during such gaming, so the spit moisturizes his vision one eye at a time. It all makes perfect sense
MASH! MASH!

I like the messages on the walls the most, I think XD They're funny! And the nachos finally have cheese! I can finally eat them now ;_;
But yes, arcades are lots of fun! Tho Japanese ones have always been quite different from ours XD But this is kind of a nice thing to remember time when younger ^^

He could just close one eye at a time then couldn't he? Though licking his eye is much funnier lookin'.
It's just too bad that arcades are starting to die off, and will probably dwindle in number as time progresses. I think in part due to the demand for better graphics, the ease of gaming online, and the flops that arcades produce every now and again.

Small arcades seem to die off, but the large ones in tourist heavy places like the beaches and boardwalks down here in Maryland flourish. But most of them are extremely large and usually multi story, with flashy signs to leech money away from shoebie tourists coming to the beach.
I totally didn't think about blinking one eyelid at a time! ^_^;;
But I agree, it is rather unfortunate arcades over the years have fizzled out so quickly. There is only one "nearby" where I live that is the only establishment that comes to mind, however a vast majority of the units are newer games with shiny graphics and interactive mediums (light guns, boxing, racing). Back in the days, it had two levels of back to back cabinets... none of this 60 games in one machine nonsense. Where is the awesome decorative cabinet artwork, with fancy glass/plastic face plate? o_o

Blech... that simplicity was compromised with strange grammar-mar-mar! D:
I would also like to add to my comment, that this picture some what reminds me of the time when I first went to the Arcades, fell in love, and THEN I started playing some games >:U
The most notable game I played was the original House of the Dead game... it was very notable, because I was actully six years of age when I played it... Basically, I was too small to play the game |B ( Seriously, I was shooting randomly at blue zombies D: )
Oh, and, I am quite sorry for the double post |B~

Check this male out, keeping freaky zombies away from clawing his face at such a young age! o.o It is a noteworthy moment! House of the Dead was a fantastic FPS for Arcades, they always seem to keep the series going nowadays ^^ I also find it interesting that there is a switch for showing red blood splatter or green gloop depending on the arcade owners preference.
Oh, and I enjoy seeing double postings from you because it makes your avatar look like it is playing leap frog ^w^

You are either very gifted in the realm of comic/wacky dialog or you have the world's largest rolodex XD Even your descriptions are knee-slappers... "Decided to change Pichu's eye color as it previously was bordering on some nuclear toxic green, or "Hulk Rage"."
I digress, yet another highly entertaining pic, I look forward to the next imagine your creative mind comes up with xP

I'll tell the truth: I was a professional Mortal Kombat Trilogy player for the psx once upon a time. :P This pic brings back memories, when we were at the arcades, when 3D games hit the market: Resident Evil, Tekken 2 and Twisted Metal 2 was the best game there was when it comed to graphic and feeling. I feel like a grandma'.
Delcatty should hump the controler! (My naugthy mind took over!) You missed out a chance there!

First, I hafta give you big points for referring to the system as the psx ^w^ <3 Not many people that I talk with throw that name out!
And drat! I didn't think about that, but it totally sounds like something Delcatty would do ^w^ She wouldn't be able to effectively win a game per say, tho she would achieve her own special reward!

I used to play Soul Calibur 2 in the arcade all the time, eventually becoming one of the best players there. I could tear up all challengers with Voldo. Then every once in a while a noob would come along and just randomly hit all the buttons as fast as they could, sometimes beating me. :(
arcades pretty much don't exist anymore :<
Gotta go to a stupid amusement center, or an adult amusement center (which usually don't have very good arcades, unless it's a retro joint!).... or a test market place, which I'm assuming there's a lot of in Cali for the japanese companies (here in chicago the only company that still made test units was Midway, until they closed their arcade unit a few years back) ;3;
