hhrrmmm....thought i'd posted this before, but no...
Near the beginning of the graphic novel i'm working on...
Emma (fox) and Ash (wolf) see each other for the first time in seven years, after the break-up that left Ash suicidal and Emma an alcholic. Ash has been forced to return to the fox colony to seek her help for his adopted daughter Teesha (lynx) who is dying of a mysterious illness that has killed almost half of the coyote village that he lives at. It is a reunion Ash never wanted to have and Emma has dreamed of- but also feared. This moment is excruciatingly painful for both of them - all the old feelings, the loss, the hopelessness flooding back...
This is probably the second time i'd tried sketching Emma and Ash (and Teesha), back around '96...'98... ??

Rare case where i had completely written a story without having ever sketched the characters or knowing what style i'd draw it in...
Did a bit of digital tone/airbrushing on it back in '09, and sweetened it up a bit more last night.

Well, i still don't know how i'm going to publish it - Probably free online with optional donation. i'd like to make an actual dead tree version - something about holding a book in your hands and looking at art that isn't back lit etc etc...i'll have to see about that when the time comes.
