Some of the scrap paper I use was from a note pad I ganked from the office where I worked when I was a Graphic artist. unfortunately the printing from the other side shows up when I scan it.

I know I figured out a trick for bleed through like that in the past, but I forgot what it was. Either A blank sheet of thick white paper that won't let light through behind it, or dark construction paper, I think. I don't remember which worked better.
Most scanners have a glossy white backdrop that reflects light back through, revealing any flaws in the paper as shadows, as well as anything in the other side. You need to diffuse that.

I have not drawn in years, so I don't actually remember clearly what worked and what just made it worse. Experiment a bit with putting different things behind the paper with the image on it, or even keeping the lid open with the paper held flat.
I recall messing with brightness and sensitivity settings and then darkening the lines again digitally afterward as well.
... now, if Only I could remember how I made blue lined paper lines magically disappear ... I figured that out once as well, but then forgot how I did it. *shrugs*
