Baraque Michel is an inn located in the High Fens in eastern Belgium. It's in the middle of nowhere, in an area that is hard to traverse on foot, and there are only a few roads. So it was probably a sanctuary to people crossing it on foot, which was surely dangerous as it's all wet marshland that you could easily get stuck in, if not lost.

It was very foggy there, and covered in snow even when it was clear down lower.
