This, folks, is a cat who goes straight for what she wants.
Okay, who wants to hear a story about a new kitty? :D Everyone does! Or you can stop reading here, cause it's going to start now.
So a little over a week ago, we noticed this cat hanging out in the back yard, tiny kitty shoving the big outdoor cats out of the way and eating their canned food. She obviously had a collar on, but was eating like she hadn't known about the existence of food until right then. Never seen this cat before, ever. Now, bear in mind that I already HAVE two cats. This house in total has seven (including my two). So okay, we figure, maybe someone from the street behind us has a kitty who came to visit and decided to eat a bunch of food, play with our kitties, etc.
What starts getting weird is...she doesn't GO HOME. Not only does she follow all of us around when we're outside, but she campaigns extremely hard to get into the house. I don't think I have ever seen a cat struggle SO HARD to wiggle and claw her way into a house before, smashing her face up against the glass and standing on her hind legs, pawing at the door handle. For two days, we tried to keep her out, but it started getting so bad that I couldn't stick a foot through the sliding glass door without the cat trying to jam her face around my knee or wiggle a paw through the gap, like she could somehow dig her way into the house.
Finally we gave in, and she trots in...I plop her in the litter box so she knows where it is. She immediately uses it, then leaps on my bed and promptly crashes out, completely splayed in all directions like "AHHHHH." Yes, this was a photo of her ON DAY ONE of being in the house. Didn't even twitch when the flash went off.
I've heard of pets choosing their owners, but this was kind of ridiculous. <XD
Needless to say, my other two cats aren't quite thrilled at sharing their cushy bed with this young upstart newcomer, but they're getting used to her. I caught them playing the other day. :3
Current theories are:
1. There are a lot of For Sale signs in the neighborhood...someone may have lost a pet while packing up to move?
2. Owners don't find adult kitty as cute and fun as tiny kitten, so she got ignored/abandoned? (The vet estimates her at about 8 months)
3. Lost pet?
What's kinda sad is that there have been ZERO lost cat ads in the newspaper since we found her, and she had no microchip or ID of any kind. :/ Well, technically there was one ad, but it was for an orange tabby. It's disappointing to me that someone out there doesn't even want to ID their pet, or spend the $15 to run an ad to find said pet who's so sweet and so laid back we almost step on her because she seems to like taking deep naps in the middle of the hallway... 9_9 sigh kitty
Oh, and in Miu's tradition of naming everything after food, her name is Oreo. :D

Damn well I think I would of cracked within a few mins.. and let her in right away. 8 cats is not as bad as what I have hon. ;> I've saved one from becoming road pizza on the freeway a few months back. He jet white with one gold and blue eye, sadly he can't hear at all yet still a doll. Gets along with everyone in the household at least. Give it a couple a weeks kitten should get along with everyone just fine ;)
You guys are very kind hearted and she lucky to of found you all.

Well, partly we figured since she was wearing a collar, she would go HOME... (nope)
And partly it was like nooo <XD no more kitties...they all want to sleep on me and I'm going to die of heat stroke...
It's hard to say no when she toddles over and sleeps on your foot, though. -_-;
