Quick Questions
Answered so you don't have to ask them.
Q: "How do I get one??"
A: I will frequently put up pre-made Puku for sale! Sometimes I will take customs commissions or trades, and I may even give them away at times if you're lucky!
Q: "Can I use one as my fursona?"
A: Certainly, so long as you acquired it legitimately and didn't make one without permission!
Q: "I don't like ___ about the Puku I bought/received!"
A: Minor edits are a-OK so long as they are not made to the original artwork. If you want major changes, it'd be best to ask me first. Plumage, adornment, and color tweaks are perfectly fine.
Q: "Can I draw porn of them?"
A: Please feel free to, if you're legally allowed!
Q: "Can I draw them with boobs?"
A: I would appreciate it if you didn't deviate too much from the original concept. They don't have much in the way of sexual demorphism and Puku canonologically do not have mammary organs.
Q: "Will you make me a custom?"
A: Customs will only be available through auctions or under special circumstances.
Q: "What can't I do?"
A: Claim them as your own creation, alter the original artwork, resell them, and I would prefer you didn't buy them just to trade or kill them off. My creations are not for commercial use.
Q: "I saw someone with a suspicious-looking Puku! What should I do?"
A: If you think someone has a puku that didn't come from me, check with me, first! I will take care of things from there.

I'll probably elaborate more on this in a later guide, but think uhm.. like Birds and like Lobsters. They mature pretty quickly from hatchling to fledgling, up to a year.
The fledging of a chick is a big deal, moreso than the hatching, and is marked as a milestone in their life. The date is celebrated akin to human birthdays.
Once they are fledged they mature over a few months into adulthood, mentally and physically.
Once they're fully fledged adults they live for quite a long time. It's hard to say how long, but if we're going by earth human years, the average life expectancy is anywhere from 60 to 100.
A 100 year old puku is not considered a sage. The life expectancy is for the average Puku, as they are exposed to threats to their mortality-- predators, disease, slavery, war, accidents, famine, etc.
Once a Puku has surpassed that hump, they've grown to outlive it, they can live for a very, very long time. Hundreds of years. That is when they are Sage. Sage Puku aren't terribly common, but in more developed settlements where everyone is more protected and healthier overall, there will be more Sage. Think of them as like.. ascended. They've outlived all the dangers thrown at them.
So tl;dr
Very brief childhood, about a year. Kinda long adult life expectancy, 60-100 years. Sage live for hundreds.
Sometimes Sage Puku lose track of how long they've lived and like to exaggerate it to make themselves look bigger and stronger and wiser than they are. :T
