A compilation of commissioned images to form a makeshift reference sheet for future artworks and commissions/gifts/trades until I can get him a proper one ^^

Originally they had little backstory or personality but then I began growing fond of them, and expanded and fleshed out their characters. Today they’re a part of my own unique story world, where in the past it roughly takes after the general setting that DDD has (Dinosaurs in WW2) but branches off in its own direction beyond that.

Their birthdates were supposed to be the date I purchased the game, however I was unable to find this information so I picked one at random - Claw being older than Dilo as she was the first dinosaur class I played, with the Dilophosaurus being the second.

Claw’s favorite foods include rabbit meat (Reference to the ‘decoy/lure’ in-game), sushi (especially tuna and salmon), and spicy foods. Also people who make her very mad.
Unlike the in-game Dilophosaurus, which appear to be very fond of (or at least fed mostly) goat meat, Dilo hates the taste of it. His favorite foods include fish of all kinds, turkey and chicken, and pumpkin pie. He’s also fond of chocolate.


Claw and Dilo are the result of an experiment intended to accelerate the intellectual growth and capacity of the dinosaur ‘soldiers’, to make them more efficient on the battlefield as well as to reduce the number of friendly casualties from the frequently unruly animals. Claw and Dilo were the only two known successes at the time, and to preserve this rare case of success they were not permitted to ever set foot on the battlefield to prevent them from getting killed - much to Claw’s frustration, and a frustration she often took out on those around her.


Claw herself is a hybrid - blending velociraptor and deinonychus together to get the best traits from both species: the speed and dexterity of the velociraptor and the greater size and endurance of the deinonychus. Claw’s the only time such a blending has ever occurred, as it was deemed too expensive and time consuming to perform reliably at the time, and the secrets of this process were lost in the final days of the war.

In these final days Claw and Dilo managed to sneak into one of the Axis labs, Claw desiring to vent her frustration by “breaking something important looking”, and in the process somehow found themselves cryogenically frozen where they remained until the present day (210 years)

In the present time that Claw and Dilo’s story takes place, dinosaurs are much more widespread, and raptors serve as a sentient secondary race - much like Elves do with Humans in many fantasy settings. Various national borders have changed during this time, between several conflicts (Including a WW3), and many feral dinosaurs roam in the wilderness.
