Once again, I'm a little behind schedule, when it comes to posting any 'photo-ops' on a "Throwback Thursday".
This time, I have a digital snapshot of myself, taken by my brother Glenn on his smartphone.
Glenn and I celebrated Christmas Day, by going out to eat at Bobby Rubino's Rib House in Pompano Beach. (Bobby Rubino's used to have a chain of restaurants throughout parts of both Florida and New York; but the tough American economy forced most of them to shut down. The one we went to - the flagship eatery on U.S. 1- is the only surviving one left.)
We'd wrapped up the holiday by "walking off the meal" at the beach, walking most of the length of its signature pier - where we'd encountered many local residents who were fishing, many more out-of-state (and out-of-country) tourists walking out over the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, and numerous seabirds (e.g. gulls, terns, pelicans, etc.) flying overhead and/or resting on the handrails.
Nearly halfway across said pier, I got Glenn to take this 'photo-op' of me - in my Santa cap and green Megaplex ("Christmas in July") T-shirt. A few minutes later, a pelican landed near where I'd posed for this picture. I hope to post a 'photo-op' of that bird in the near future...
