I use blunt weapons and crippling, but livable, shots.
An envision of my love for striking the enemy with gratuitous force was a powerful attack made in my story I'm working on where the user of a direct weapon would draw in a bit of energy and cleave the target, upon impact, creating a small explosion, blasting any weakling to bits. The attack was eloquently dubbed "Explode".
Oh you furries and your little special moves.
(The attack pretty much blows up anyway, as long as the blade hits SOMETHING physically solid. )
