This my final project for my Interactive Motion Scripting class, in which I learned the basics of Action Script 3.
Our final's only spec was to do something awesome. xD Everyone was to use what skills they'd picked up and the stuff they'd learned to create whatever they wanted, as long as it demonstrated a knowledge of AS3. Oh, and we weren't allowed to have anything on the stage, it all had to be placed there with scripting.
Me being, well, me... I decided right off that I wanted to make a script that randomly generated art. So, it took a random shape from a collection I provided and placed it at a random position on the map at a random size and random rotation. I had wanted a random color too, but so far I've been unable to generate that with the script alone.
What I finally came up with was a single movie clip with a variety of shapes inside of it, each on its own keyframe. The script places the movie clip on the stage with the random size and position, and randomly chooses one of those keyframes. To get multiple colors, I just had to duplicate the object and change the color, but hey, it works. xD
You can have the script run again by clicking anywhere, so have fun making some random, computer generated art! xD And feel free to save the results if you like.
