Note: I mean, in no way, shape or form, through any intentional doing so of this drawing, for this piece to be taken as a kind of offense towards individuals of Cherokee or even Native American heritage/descent. This is merely a representation drawn up based off a musical track.
The above note/warning, is to cover my tail from any dislike/hate or any dislike of the depiction of this proud Indian tribe. There was a time when I was younger that I had a down deep in my heart love for Native American heritage and in some ways, still have a love for the heritage. Sometime ago, I listened to the track "Cherokee Nation" by Paul Revere and the Raiders have wanted to draw this up, just couldn't find a way to properly represent what the track covers.
I, myself, do not have any Native American background, but history kinda sticks w/me about the Native Americans and their suffering during the expansion of the West. And as it may appear nowadays, those who once held onto old traditions have become more attuned to changing to modern times. Dressing up as business men/women or taking on modern jobs. But deep inside, beats the heart of a proud man/woman of Native Heritage.
I literally researched up an image of a Cherokee to insure I got the headdress and other details that will be added to this so as to be true to the culture that is being depicted in this piece.
I won't go into detail as to why one side of the face has no black outlines while the other side does. That'll be written up in the finished piece's post. If anyone wants to add their 2 cents about this, such as what should be placed in the background, please be tasteful and discreet about the details.
