Dragon Skull - Cyrakhis
I give you, the cranial and mandibular skeletal elements of the Western Banana Dragon!
This was an utter JOY to work on - I want more anatomy commissions!! More more more! A $75 commission, which gave me more time to put in details and do some more research on what would work realistically. This is a patently very mammalian skull, with a lot of reference from Brown Hyenas for the dentition and zygomatic arch (cheekbone). The temporalis and other jaw muscles would attach to the underside of the horn core, since the horns get in the way of the muscles attaching to a temporal ridge along the top of the skull.

This is wonderful! Even though I don't see dragons have mammalian bone structure, but this is done really-really well... Love it :}
Love doing this kind of research myself, I only wish internet had more info about all the animal anatomy things!
PS: I'm still mind-blown about how realistic teeth you sculpted by the way! All the anatomy research!

Thanks so much! I just allocate the most realistic skull structure for what external information I'm given. With Cyr's ears, dentition, nostril and nasal structure, and use of the jaw, mammal seemed to be the best-fitting ticket. The next dragon's skull I'll be working on has a reference that will work so much better with a more saurian skull, so don't be disappointed! ^^
And thanks so much about the 3D teeth - raccoon skulls are great references, especially when you have a skull replica to work with in real life! : D I'd love to work with you on future projects if you ever feel inclined! Your skills rock my socks!
