An earnest plea was made in the comments for Part H, to the effect that there should be thrashings. We aim to please. Ladies and gentlefurs, we present a thrashing. We also, among other things, see how Persimmon University is doing against the College of Vulpitania in the big game.

I somehow doubt that the femmes in the original (maybe? Well, the Lowfolk variant at any rate) Rover Boys stories had quite that much spunk and effectiveness. And Dan's transmogrification either wore out, or Doryx knows enough of Gramerye to cast a dispelling. Now we just have to finish the Big Game. One wonders if Jadwiga is any good, or if she depends solely on Wiles to get things done.

(1) It was pretty clear, in the hotel room, that the use of buck-form was a disguise, so Dan likely discarded it as unnecessary. Either that, or Billy C. finished the job at the villa by bungling the disguises further.
(2) Part of the whole thing that makes Ted Pierce's 1942 original so much fun is that Dainty Dora Standpipe's actions were violently at odds with the original. When you consider that the originals were written in the late Victorian/Edwardian era, spunky female heroines, if any, were few and far between, for better or for worse.
