Species description:
Name: lacerns, or lac for short, appear in legends as ferndragons.

Appearance: average height is 60-65 cm. for males and 55-60 cm. for females. Warm-blooded, mammals, marsupials, oviparous. Body temperature - 34 °C. Need sun’s warmth daily.

Diet: vegetables, fruits, berries, leaves, grass, insects. Have scotopic vision. Good swimmers. Live in the jungle in groups of 5 to 10 near the water.
Have no ears, just like lizard. Strong tail helps to catch insects and shake down fruits from branches. The body is covered with soft big plates which feel like the leaves of Coltsfoot. Hatchlings do not have these plates. Plates at the tail’s end, more dense and wide, accumulate water inside.
Sticky saliva has antibacterial effect and also helps the animal to get rid of mites.

Communicate by touching with its nose, tongue or forehead and by making sounds resembling clicks, purrs and growling. Curious and trusting. Avoid conflicts and fight very rarely.
