That juvenile version of 'Lupine' (in my recent story "Toying Around") wasn't the first very young 'fat furry' I'd rendered...
Back in the late 1990s, I'd drawn a chubby little beaver boy in a comic strip gag starring Rob Cat's niece 'Cora' (based on an amalgam of the names of my two RL nieces 'Corynne' and 'Erica'). Little 'Barry Beaver' (like the young 'Lupine') has an insatiable appetite, and cannot wait until either lunchtime or 'milk and cookie break' at the day care center. Of course, being the type of animal that he is, he prefers gnawing on wood as a 'between-meal snack' - which makes the teacher glad that her classroom doesn't have any wooden chairs or tables in it! But 'Barry' is resourceful, and has managed to find something to satisfy his appetite - much to the disappointment of 'Cora'!
