Above is a partial genealogy showing the current High King of Faerie, Adler the Prudent, and his heirs. These characters are based off
tegerio's,
eocostello's, and my stories set in the Realm of Faerie universe.
We start with Adler's father, King Sartorious the Dissolute. He and his queen had three children, Adler, Roland and Stella. Stella died at a very young age. Adler married and had a son, the current Crown Prince Gawain; Adler's younger brother Roland never married, and has no heirs.
If the direct line dies out, there is a bit of depth in the backfield. My story Mont Rose mentions Prince Guillaume, described as King Adler's maternal uncle. While not of the direct line (his fur's the standard black with a white stripe, as opposed to the Lacktail's characteristic white with a black stripe), the Prince has married, and has had children. His second son Thorwald was Adler and Roland's cousin, and Thorwald's oldest son Larsen is about a year or so older than Crown Prince Gawain.
The best feature is that Earl Larsen of Emmetstal has a number of progeny.

Thank you!
eocostello asked me about it at the nightly chat session, and I've tossed this together.
eocostello asked me about it at the nightly chat session, and I've tossed this together.
Several nights a week, :icomarmelmm:,
eocostello and I will set up a chat room via AIM or AOL and discuss things. We'll throw cultural references or story ideas back and forth, along with conversation. We've had some great collaborations come out of these sessions. Here's a little snip:
Wdr1066 [7:10 P.M.]: Created a new town in Faerie. Midway or so between Persoc Tor and Rajjan.
EOCostello [7:10 P.M.]: Oh? Do tell.
Wdr1066 [7:11 P.M.]: Emmetstal. Emmet, as I recall, is an archaic word for ant that shows up in crossword puzzles, and tal is valley.
Basically a town in the saddle between mountains, with ant-raising a main industry, along with mining.

This is a good reference…I'd forgotten about Prince Guillaume. I'd only gotten into
EOCostello's faerie stories this year.
