That would be baseball. That is where you use a big stick and hit someones balls with it.
This is football. Where you try to kick someones balls for a hundred yards or so for a field goal.

Well yeah that's another place where ones balls of another kind get hit by a stick. But they are suppose to be hitting the puck with the stick and not the other players. I guess with them always falling and smacking their soft heads on that hard ice and freezing what brains they do have they get real confused that they are suppose to be hitting the puck with their sticks and not each other.
