Eric's heart skipped a beat...several beats actually. Time seemed to have frozen all around him. His brain was going a million miles per hour, his face felt so hot as he blushed furiously. Roman was knelt in front of him, a ring in his hand, his own face flushed and looking up into Eric's eyes.
Roman kept his smile, but his eyes were searching for any clue of Eric's answer. His knees trembled, his palms sweaty, his nerves starting to get the better of him.
"Roman.....Oh, Roman!" Eric's hand shook as he extended it. "Of course, Yes!!!"
Both men couldn't hold back tears as Roman took the ring from it's box, and slid it upon Eric's finger. Roman stood up, looking into Eric's eyes as they stood close, and kissed each other with such passion.
The months seemed to blur on by. The announcements were made to their friends and families. The wedding was planned for a very special day in January, when they had their first date all those years ago, and not to be set in the traditional summer months (though it was tempting to get everything over with before school began again). A mutual friend offered their expansive backyard to hold the wedding, to save on the costs of a church/ Flowers and caterers were ordered for that day, guests arrived in droves, mingling before settling in their seats, bundled up in coats and mufflers and mittens from the cold weather.
Instead of the 'traditional' wedding, both men planned to arrive on either side of the makeshift arch, two rows set at a diagonal so both of them could walk in time, meeting in front of the priest after their groomsmen walked in front of them.
Eric was in the traditional tuxedo, while roman wore a white tux to offset it all. They read their vows, and after the priest pronounced them husbands for life, they shared another passion filled kiss as flakes of snow fell around them, a short flurry of bluish white snow sealing their now entwined fates.
