Just an old pic of my local city hall.
Oh yeah, I hate power lines. -_-

Commonwealth Edison can be really goofy at times, and there is no logic to what they do! You know, one would think they would bury those lines at least in a downtown area!
Wow, that City Hall is really nice, and I would never have expected something of that style to be in Plainfield as I would have thought they would have built something more modern like the new Soldier Field. I like the retro look though.

Plainfield has been striving to be Naperville for years, so they're really building things up like Naperville. They recently redid all the sidewalks downtown and put in bricks.
As for the power lines, Plainfield built the building behind the lines. If I was planning it I would've put it back further.

That makes sense that Plainfield would try to be Naperville-lite as the reality is that Naperville has a good name. Kind of like how Orland Hills was renamed to capitalize on the development in Orland Park I am sure the folks in Plainfield want to do the same with their relationship with Naperville. The reality is that whenever folks think about Plainfield the first thing that comes to mind is that tornardo that tore apart the place.
I guess things could be worse about the power lines as there are suburbs in the area which have those unsightly high tension power lines going right through the middle of the areas. Especially if those lines have been there forever, then I doubt there is much which can be done about them. At least during winter the icicles on the power lines don't look bad, right?
