While I realize it's no longer the Christmas season, I figured I would go ahead and post this. This was drawn by the ever amazingly talented
illogical Here we have Jacob (the raccoon near the star) and his adopted giant micro loving younger brother Fortnight. Here is a bit of background on the character:
When Jacob was about 4, he told his parents about wanting another sibling. Despite his parent's initial shock, they agreed that they would adopt from one of the local orphanages. During a visit to one of the local orphanages, Jacob spied out a new born Eevee boy that had been born a few months premature sleeping peacefully in his little crib/bed. Instantly Jacob knew that the Eevee would be his little brother. His parents told him that they would adopt him, but couldn't bring him home just yet because he had to "grow up" enough before they could do so. They had to wait at least two weeks before being able to bring him home. "A period of two weeks, his father told him, is called a fortnight" he explained. Jacob liked the idea of the term so much, he asked if that was what they could name his baby brother. It turned out that the name had a nice ring to it, and the name Fortnight stuck.
Jacob came to love his baby brother very quickly. He would often play games with him and overall spent a great deal of time around him in general. When the brothers got a little bit older, Jacob was told that Fortnight had been the runt of his litter. Having such a great love and compassion for his brother, Jacob would often tell Fortnight every night before going to bed, "Now remember bro, don't forget to grow big and strong okay?" Over the course of a few years, Fortnight grew taller at a much faster pace than Jacob did. He grew up to be so big in fact, that he could no longer fit in the house. One day, (when Jacob was 14 and Fortnight was 10) their parents came to them and regrettably announced that because of Fortnights size, they no longer had the right means to take care of him. Both brothers were heartbroken to hear that Fortnight would be moving away to Beanstalkia, The Land of the Giants and placed in the care of one of those giants. On the day that Fortnight left for Beanstalkia, Jacob told him, "You are going to a place where I can't go Brother. But I promise you, with all of my heart and soul that one day, we will meet again and be together."
Two years later, while on his quest to search for and meet various giants of Beanstalkia, he journeyed through a large forest area and eventually stumbled upon a rather large cave to rest for the night. He discovered quickly that this cave was being inhabited by a giant Umbreon who stood at about 20-30 feet tall! The giant saw him and Jacob became very afraid. After many minutes of being questioned by the giant pokemon however, Jacob couldn't believe that the Umbreon was in fact his younger brother Fornight! The brothers were absolutely ecstatic that fate had brought them together again. After many moments of laughter, hugging, and tears, Fortnight proceeded to tell Jacob that he was in the care of Gigas, one of the many giants of Beanstalkia. Gigas had been teaching Fortnight how to be very careful and gentle when around individuals much smaller than himself, as well as many other things. Not wanting to ever be separated again, Fortnight and Jacob asked Gigas if Jacob could travel with them. Gigas agreed, and the brothers rejoiced at being together again.
Fortnight could be best described as being my character, but living in Illogical's world.
