Snowbirds - Lag Back Cross
The lag back cross is a visually spectacular maneuver, where five aircraft fly in a formation with two aircraft on either side of a central aircraft. The central aircraft rolls around the left pair, followed by the right. As it comes back to centre the lower pair turns inward and climbs at a steep angle, the upper pair break inwards at a shallow angle, and the centre aircraft climbs out. The five aircraft appear, to the spectator, to cross at a point.
