My ears twitched a bit and I looked up, circling overhead were large dark black birds. I wonder what I looked like to them, probably just a silly big creature getting in the way of lunch. How long had it been since I took the moment to just stare up at the sky? I hadn't done that for a long while. It used to be a pastime when I was growing up, watching the clouds and the birds with my mom while dad went off to deal with the traders. Things had been so much simpler back then.
