You could always close the door...and lock it for a longer period of time.
This scene is all too familiar: my parents got 1 dog and 2 cats and 2 pet boxes that are winter-ready for them.
The two cats don't want to sleep together, and so one sleeps with the dog, after he is in the box, the cat sneaks inside.
(There is a Ghostbuster quote about the end of the world is coming when cats and dogs are peacefully together...)

But after i close it, where will i sleep?
