... scaley and furry! You may kiss the critter :3
We had the great pleasure of a visit from our good friends
grecko and
gamercoon last week, and since they just recently officially tied the knot, I felt some sort of cheesy, romantic wedding present was in order! Congratulations, you two!! This was drawn using one of their photos as a reference, so I could get the wedding apparel right :3 Lookin' smart!
Having decided at MFF that I do like using markers, I went and bought a bunch more during the Christmas sales, one of which was a Prismacolor Metallic Gold marker. It's like liquid gold is flowing out of the pen 83 SO MUCH FUN! And it covers up everything you draw on, even black. The downside is, as I found to my dismay when I went to outline the gold with some nice thin black pen, that the gold is also near impossible to draw on top of. In the end I had to resort to using acrylic paint and my smallest paintbrush, which in my clumsy paws still seemed about ten sizes too big. Oh well! Turned out alright in the end X3
9x12", markers and colored pencil (and some black acrylic paint :P) on Bristol paper.

I've found the trick with the liquid paint markers is do the black first and then do the gold over it... Also stand by with a slightly damp piece of TP twisted up to help 'herd' the liquid paint, it tends to like to wander if it isn't mixed consistently by shaking... I like the silver myself for metal highlights and water shine if you go over it with another colour after it's dry. Like you said it's almost impossible to cover.
And this is a really sweat piece.
