I like it, though the reversal premise does rub a little on my sensibilities of the tale formula. Nonetheless, I suppose it still carries the “Kinderunhausmarchen’s” edited out final line " Aber Wölfe sind oft stärker (but Wolves are Often Stronger)", but in a different way.
You’re a very talented writer; you work well with the internal characterization especially tied to pathos. Even though lacking in a lot of character description at times you do well to move past it with these elements and the wonderful scene creating that the reader can easily fill in the scenes. You also have good dialogue flow and control per character. So much is lost on many when it comes to the genre today. You work well understanding genre and applying world building and the FUN as a needed layer instead of spectacle (more a comment reserved for The Grand Bazaar.. I can’t remember the last time I have read such a tantalizing street scene opening in the SF genre).
I don’t use such words lightly when it comes to writing, I assure you I mean what I say, keep working with this dream.
