Since I just wrote with my friend a very sad story with these two as main characters on LJ (It's named I'll protect you) I wanted something sweet to feel better.

Last expression challenge, by Miharu-Panic who wanted to see my D9 OC Kiri embarrassed. I had this idea once in a very doodlish meme I did with this pair, so this is a sort of redo of one of the panels.
Kiri is an old (40-45 human years old) and tough soldier, very pragmatic and rough, kind just with his human mate Helen (and just sometimes) so Helen is moved when sees him taking care of some pretty little birds.
Kiri instead feels like his kindness is a weakness and knows that his girlfriend will tell to her colleagues and their friends in common that 'her boyfriend is so sensitive that he fed some little helpless birds!'... so he boldly lies and tries to make her beloved angry.
It didn't work, and Helen surprises him with a very sweet 'I love you'. It seems Kiri feels still uneasy talking about emotions and the idea of her mate so moved for his kindness embarrassed him... in a pretty way. XD
