littlefreckles took on this challenging commission last year. Kzace has been donating a good chunk of his time to help me run Artists' Alley at AC, so every year I get some kind of tribute of gratitude for him. He does it more out of friend loyalty and consideration than he does for love of the fandom, so I give him special thanks for his sacrifice. Plus I know how his work schedule is weekend-focused, so taking a whole one off for something like this is an even bigger sacrifice than it is for M-F dudes like me.

Somehow this idea came to mind -- a macro helping at an airport by picking up planes and launching them from thousands of feet up, so they don't have to burn all that fuel or time gaining altitude. Hope the K'zin pilot has good eardrums!

LittleFreckles hadn't done something like a plane before, or at least not in a while. And to boot, she had to do it based on Kzace's personal plane (a Belanca Viking, I believe). I think she did an AMAZING job! (ignore the lack of propeller, we talked about that and decided that was artistic license ;))

I do so love what LF did with teh landscape. Nice atmospheric perspective there, and diversity of terrain. Rooth seems appropriately scaled for this operation, too. Heh.
