I was feeling icky yesterday because of allergies so I decided to take a break from commissions to work on some personal art. I wasn't sure which of my characters to draw though (so many of them haven't had any attention in ages!) so I chose randomly from a little envelope I have for just such a situation - and I picked Tequila Rose, my pony'sona. ^u^
Tequila Rose is a bartender in Cloudsdale, so the title for this picture was all too perfect. lol Also, I was having trouble actually deciding *how* to draw her - G4? Something art nouveau? No wait, G1! Took me a while actually but then I found this picture, and it was so pretty and so well-drawn I couldn't help trying to replicate. >u< In the end I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I'm happy to finally have some updated art of my pony gal. n_n
I am not currently open for commissions, but I will be taking a new round next Friday! In the meantime, watch me complete the current queue by following my art page on facebook: www.facebook.com/luthiennightwolfsart

When I saw this piece on Facebook I was tempted to say that I felt your pony art had really improved, but reading your comments here I think perhaps it is just that I like your style for drawing G! ponies more. This specific piece certainly makes me want to get a pony commission from you sometime in the future! (Although you would probably laugh at the number of MLP style pony characters I have XD)
I am really impressed at the number of tiny stars you put into the background, and all the swirls in the clouds. I also adore the texture of Tequila Rose's hair here. This piece is just precious!

I wouldn't be against it. lol I like drawing mlp stuff, I just don't get asked to very often. I usually shoot for something vaguely G4 styled but I'm an 80's kid and there's something about those plump little G1 ponies that will always appeal to me, so who knows, with practice I may be able to draw like this one more often, without need of a reference pic. I'd be happy to practice with as many ponies as you wanna throw at me. :3
