Image now indicating the new "Character Interpretation Commissions," with a comic hopefully explaining it. BUT in case you need further explination, lemme explain. Again.

First off, you gotta realize I've been studying art in animation and video games for several years now. Sure I'm no master, not even close, but I will claim that I DO know a thing or two.
Character design is far more important than just making someone or something look interesting. As I know from personal experience with posting written commission information, people somehow assume reading just isn't worth the effort, and as a result, making a character interesting via written bios is rarely ever effective. But people do realize the need to grab and hold attention of the viewer as well. Unfortunately most seem to do it through sex appeal. Now, while not an absolute no in the design system, when abused, viewers tend to care more about how much "donk" is in a woman's Ba-donk-a-donk, than whether she's, say, a survivor with an immunity to zombies, or the briliant yet troubled mind that knows how to crack some specific code. Character design is immensely effective for telling a character's direction and story in an instant, but only if it's done right.
To that extent, I've created this sale to anyone who would like to see what I have in mind. Again, I'm not a professional, but I"m not groping around in the dark either. Bear in mind, these commissions DO give me a significant more liberty with overall design than regular commissions do. In any case, here's how it works;
-
1. Present the character. Whichever image or reference you think comes closest, or at least, is the design you want me to base my interpretation off of. If you only have a written description, that's perfectly fine too.
2. What is the lore/personality were trying to tell here? Is this a knight who's lost his way? Perhaps some technomancer who has yet to discover his rave-induced powers? In order to do an effective interpretation, I need some semblance of a direction. If no sense of a direction for personality or lore is given, I'll assume that I am to make up one on the spot.
3. Sit back and enjoy. If during a stream, I"ll ask for feedback, or if I have any questions about the lore in question.

Regular commissions are still available as usual, so don't feel pressured to try this out if you don't want to. Again, thanks for reading, and hope to hear from you guys this monday!

MHm, the idea of interpretations is very tempting and interesting, especially the written form! That's how my Kiono has developed over the years, took a lot of commissions and picked the things I liked best, so... basically a lot of artists have made him to what he is at the moment.
And your option would give a great start for new ones!

I'd be highly interested to claim a slot.
