Going through the process of redesigning most of my characters as they're all dreadfully overdue for an update.

First up on the list is: Basil! ♥

This cute otter girl now has much thicker, longer hair that always covers her eyes. Due to a negative experience she experienced as a child, she is intensely uncomfortable with letting anyone look directly into them.

She now sports buck teeth and an adorable, heavy lisp. At a first encounter, her nasally voice and childish, straightforward way of speaking can easily peg her as a neanderthal, but she is actually extremely smart -- complex mathematics being one of her strongsuits.

The headdress is a way of bringing out her tribal origins, as to incorporate more orange into her design as an offset to the overpowering amount of green. Still trying to stay true to her embodiment of personal growth.

She and Tobiki are extremely close physically and emotionally. Since Basil is also asexual and aromantic, they share a deep bond rooted in friendship.

Basil loves tickling, but doesn't share Tobiki's fetish for it. Tickling meant a lot to her growing up -- it was a way of saying hello, a way of saying goodbye, a way of saying "I love you," and a playful way of growing closer to her brothers and sisters. She and Tobiki have tickle fights often and have whittled away many an hour reveling in their shared ticklish delights.

Her sacred mark (the tummy marking) is still the same. She is always barechested, being a strong advocate of topfreedom movements since she was young, as well as simply because it's more comfortable.

She also wears an elaborate loincloth but I'll show that later when I draw up a fullbody picture of her.
