The little highlights on Moonface weren't really visible in the photo, but here they really help his form pop out. I'm even more impressed by the way you applied foreshortening to a chequered surface, and I can see more squash and stretch generally now it's head on. The smoky warmth of your palette and mottled and variegated background gives a very 'early 20th c. vignette' feeling.
