Making that expression shown here certainly helps. If the raccoon has latched onto one's tail it is important to ask the raccoon what he's doing. If things don't go well with that, flying may be necessary/hillarious. Finally, assuming such is the case, reminding the raccoon that you are bigger can be very useful in making it clear that their tail harassment is not a winning battle.
