Here is a photo of a late Yule gift. It is a Chiappa Little Badger. It's a folding pack rifle, this one is chambered in 22 long rifle. No the scope and muzzle brake don't come with it. The shop owner added the muzzle brake for the photo.
The bad. The M1 style sights that come on it are to low to really be accurate, with my eyes they were useless. So I added a 4 power scope and rings I had kicking around. The quad rails they put on it are a joke because of placement, I took the bottom one off so it would fold tighter.
The good. It's light weight and ready to use by just unfolding it and putting a round in the chamber, unlike the AR-7 where you have to take it out and assemble it. With good sights on it the thing is accurate. It's also a lot of fun to shoot one round at a time. 25 yard groups about 1.5 inch or 35 mm keep in mind I have not done any shooting in the last five years. Now that I have something that I can shoot cheaply those groups should be tighter the more I shoot.
With the scope I have on it the eye relief is not long enough for this setup so I have to hunch forward to use it. It is very usable. I think a red dot wouldn't be a bad pick for this rifle. I see Tru-Glow make 2 power red-green dot sight, I think that would be a slick ticket, but I don't have one.
Yes I will be "dressing" it up a little. I think a real fore grip is needed, I just happen to have some carbon fiber fabric and epoxy. I have not worked out what shape to make it yet or how long.
