I briefly considered making this authentic, but this would mean taking 50 Shades, writing an Alternate-Universe fanfic that cribbed heavily from other people's fanfics, using manipulative marketing techniques to get a lot of support from fans, and leveraging it into enough popularity that I can rewrite the story with serial numbers filed off as an "original" novel and get it onto the NY Times bestseller list.

But that would take so long, it wouldn't be topical anymore, so I just applied 50 Shades' writing style and a spoof title to a fic I was planning to write anyway.

Well, except for the bit at the end where I lapsed into The Count of Monte Cristo.

I suppose I could do all that in time for the second movie...
