This is where the events of the upcoming FNAF 3 really come into play as Springtrap (the only animatronic known to be in FNAF 3) is explained. Also like any Highlander story, gotta put a flashback in this one, which is what this chapter mainly is. Also on a fun note: There is a RL animatronic that inspired the name I gave for the pizzeria owner, but I'll let you, the readers, try to guess who, LOL.

Chapter 3: Springtrap

Earlier in the day when Detective Jeremy Fitzgerald parked out behind Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, he felt the presence of another immortal, however that feeling soon disappeared. At 1st inkling, he thought it might be Rolfe Fang, but knew there was no way he could've shown up that early.

The presence he felt was inside the old pizzeria, that woke up an old, decaying animatronic that looked like a more golden brown version of the restaurant's old beloved rabbit character named Bonny. "Odd," thought the animatronic, "I haven't felt another immortal since the 90s! I better get ready to hold down the fort in case anyone breaks in." He then made his way to what remained of the Pirate Cove when Fazbear's was still in business, as his sense of the other immortal faded. Not wanting to take any chances though, he opened up a vent behind the small stage and pulled out the swords formerly carried by 2 pirate fox animatronics known as Foxy and the Mangle.

Now prepared for any intruder, the animatronic then made his way to the security office to see if the cameras were still working. As he looked into the monitors, he recalled what happened to him one fateful night in 1992.

30 years ago, Sgt. Fritz "Purple" Smith was working a rare night shift, filling in for last night guard who had recently quit, knowing the boss had hired a new guy named Mike Schmidt to fill in the next day. when he noticed the camera in the kitchen was out again. After checking the monitors to make sure the coast was clear, he went into the kitchen to hopefully fix the camera. After noticing he couldn't repair the camera, he dedcided to record a message on his portable tape recorder for the new night guard coming in.

Before he could finish his message however, the kitchen door opened and a large animatronic bird known as Chika entered the room, soon followed by the main animatronic, Freddy. Fritz did what he could to resist Fazbear, grabbing him at the muzzle and trying to snap his jaw apart, until Chika grabbed a saucepan and clocked him in the head with it, knocking him out. They then took him to the storage room where they had stuffed him into an animatronic rabbit suit.

Hours later when the restaurant was fixing to open, Fritz began to come to inside the animatronic suit when the boss, a bear named William Robert Fazbear, Jr., came in and noticed the new animatronic in the storage room with odd smells and blood visible from the mouth. "Ick," he 1st reacted, "that bloody jaw looks like someone got caught in a springtrap!" He then thought for a moment, before continuing, "That's it! We shall call you Springtrap!" Fritz tried to explain to Mr. Fazbear that it was really him, but all that came out was computer sounds. The boss then got 2 maintainence guys, both raccoons, to put the new animatronic on a 2-wheel dolly and haul him off to a hidden recording room to clean him up and work on his voice box.

As Fritz began to learn movement in his new animatronic body, night after night, he tried to find a way back into the main restaurant, but to no avail until several months after Freddy Fazbear's closed. As he kept dying of starvation and waking back up due to being immortal, his sanity lessened and lessened until one day he was able to breach a wall, entering the Pirates Cove stage.

This wall break startled Foxy who had just been humming his little jingle, prompting him to pick up his scimitar and point it at Springtrap as he spotted him. "Yarg, me matey," he shouted, "What ye be doin' in me cove? You best leave before I puts ye in Davey Jone's locker!" Springtrap was not intimidated. He grabbed Foxy by the neck, and gripped tight, breaking the head off his animatronic body. He then looked down in shock. "What have I done?" he thought, "He, he was always my favorite, but my new paw was strong enough to shatter his neck and take his head off!"

The clatter had awoken and alarmed the other animatronics, who soon rushed to the cove to see what happened. Freddy opened the curtain, noticing Foxy decapitated, then looked up at Springtrap. "You," Freddy shouted in anger, "We give you a new body, and this is how you repay us? Chika, Bonny, dismantle him, now!"

Springtrap was barely able to fend off the chicken and the rabbit, they had him pinned down until the lights flickered out and a voice echoed, "It's me!" When the lights came back on, Chika and Bonny were thrown against opposite ends of the stage, with sparks coming out of their joints, barely functional. Springtrap could feel the presence of another immortal in the place: Golden Freddy, who was now standing between him and Freddy Fazbear.

"Smith," Golden Freddy said as he guarded his animatronic body, "I've waited for this day for a long time, grab Foxy's sword, take my head and you shall be safe here for the rest of your days!" Springtrap looked hesitant, having never wanted to kill any of the animatronics, but knew that Golden Freddy knew what he was talking about, so he picked up the scimitarr and with 1 swoop, severed Golden Freddy's head as the 3 animatronics watched in horror. "I wish I didn't have to," he thought, before a surge of electricity came out of the bear's headless body.

Lightning bolts began spreading throughout the restaurant, deactivating the remaining animatronics except for Springtrap, who gained the soul, knowledge and strengths of Golden Freddy, who delivered a message through the quickening: "Protect this place, Springtrap! Protect this place and in the end, you shall be the only one!"

Not wanting to risk Chika, Bonny, or Freddy waking up, he then with his paw, shattered the necks of the 3 animatronics, and pulled their heads off, like he had done to Foxy. "Now I feel safe," he thought.
