Out of school Viita joined the Turian military for compulsory service and trained as a field medic with the intent to become a certified doctor. Her first mission in active duty turned pear shaped however when the small group of soldiers where caught unaware in a surprise attack by Batarian mercenaries.
Unprepared and outnumbered Viita experienced panic attacks and froze on the field; an action she believes is the cause for a good friends death in the skirmish.

Discharged from service after being deemed unfit for active duty in light of a series of anxiety attacks in the field Viita left Palaven with tail between legs to pursue her medical career on the Citadel.
